Corsica!

Villa during the first week

Our "private" beach, a 2-minute walk from our villa

Unbeatable view from my bedroom; surrounded by oliviers (olive trees)

A mouflon lazing in the sun and admiring the view

Dad & I

A 91-year old proud Corsican who spent an hour with us, showing us his village's church, telling us about his life and inviting us over for pastis. Random encounters are always the most interesting ones.

The road from Porto to Piana: this, of course, is a two-way highway with vertical cliffs on the outside. I held my breath at every turn (and there were many!)

Hike to Lac Nino

Lac Nino

Lac Nino: part of the appeal of doing this hike was the high likelihood of finding wild horses by the lake. We saw only two, but they were very sweet. We were prepared with a couple of extra baguettes, which they gladly took from us.

Mount Rainier Camping Adventure

Here's the only picture we have of all of us - thanks Tony! What a glorious day it was!

We have succeeded, unfortunately, in completely obscuring the enormous Rainier behind us :-)

And just to show you that the mountain is actually there, here are a few more shots, last one is from Tony again:

Picking dinner

In honor of Julia Child's 100th birthday anniversary, we're having a French meal tonight: Salade Nicoise and Clafoutis. I just harvested some goodness that will go in the salad. Tony took the picture.

And this is what we enjoyed (it's a summer favorite at the Brace household).
